Call for participation for National Workshop on RTI and Open Government Data

Freedom Forum is organizing a one-day workshop program themed "Promoting Right to Information and Open Government Data in Federal Nepal" on 23 March (9th Chaitra).

Following the adoption of the Constitution and the historic three-tier elections in Nepal, Nepal’s new federal
structure is taking shape. In the new federal set-up, the right to information (RTI) and open government data will play a key role in informing decision-making as well as ensuring effective and participatory governance at local, provincial and federal level.
To promote the RTI and open government data in federal Nepal, the Data for the Development Program
implemented by The Asia Foundation in partnership with Development Initiatives with funding from the UK
Government’s Department for International Development and Freedom Forum are organizing a one-day
national level workshop on Friday 23 March (9 Chaitra).

The workshop "Promoting the Right to Information and Open Government Data in Federal Nepal" aims to facilitate information sharing and exchange of ideas on activities and plans related to RTI and open government data at local, provincial and federal level.
The workshop will include the participation of members from various policymaking bodies, including the National Information Commission (NIC), Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, and Central Bureau of Statistics. In addition, there will be representatives from development partners, CSOs, national and international organizations, private sector, RTI and open data practitioners and researchers. This workshop brings together key stakeholders to discuss and design the role and promotion of RTI and open government data in the new federal context.
Freedom Forum invites all the interested  RTI app user to participate in the program to garner their knowledge on RTI and Open Government Data.
