सिन्धुपाल्चोक जिल्लाको पाँचपोखरी थाङपाल गाउँपालिका वडा नं.–६ मा रहेको जुगल प्राथमिक विद्यालयमा ३० जनाभन्दा बढी दलित छात्रछात्राको लागि आएको छात्रवृत्ति रकम वितरण नभई अनियमितता भएको अभिभावकहरूले गुनासो गर्दै आएका थिए । 

विगत तीन वर्षदेखि छात्रवृत्ति रकम नपाएका बालबालिकाहरूलाई के थाहा ? रकम निकासा भएर पनि विद्यालयले रकम नबाँडेको भनेर । जब स्रोतव्यक्तिले नै ती विद्यार्थीको भरपाईसहित जिल्ला शिक्षा कार्यालयमा रकम वितरण भएको विवरण विद्यालयले पेश गरिसकेको भनेर अभिभावकलाई जानकारी गराए, तब खुल्यो विद्यालयभित्र छात्रवृत्ति रकममा अनियमितताको रहस्य ।

School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination is regarded as the ‘Iron Gate’ for every students in Nepal. With completion of SLC, it promises new hopes and aspirations for both students and their families regarding their futures. A small error/carelessness during the process of checking answer sheets can prove fatal for students. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is the monopoly state company that deals with petroleum products—diesel, petrol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPg), kerosene and aviation fuel. It has the sole rights to purchase, transport, store, and distribute petroleum products. It purchases petroleum products from India, fixes prices with government consent and sells and distributes petroleum through private and public sector retailers and dealers. It is also the agency that can license petrol and diesel retailers.

In spring 2010, Nepal’s Inland Revenue Department (IRD) seized fake Value added Tax (VaT) invoices that were being sold at local stationeries. amid reports that companies used these invoices to evade taxes a story appeared on CNN online about a report prepared by the IRD on VaT evasion having gone missing, possibly because business elites had influenced the Finance Minister. The CNN piece reported that fake VaT invoices had been used to evade almost Rs. 20 billion in taxes, and also named some businesses that were allegedly involved in the scam.
